Dr. Zoran Tomić is a Principal Research Fellow at the VINS.
He graduated in 1989 at the Faculty of Sciences, Department of Chemistry, University of Belgrade, in the field of Inorganic Chemistry. In 1993 he received MSc degree in Chemistry at Chemical Faculty, University of Belgrade. He obtained PhD degree in Chemistry in 2005 from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Novi Sad. In 2000 and 2001 he received DAAD (Deutsche Akademisher Austauscdienst) fellowship for research in Crystallography at the Free University, Berlin. In 2005 he was a Visiting Scholar at Texas A&M University, working in the field of Computational Chemistry. His research interests focus on structural chemistry, particularly the study of various types of noncovalent interactions and their role in molecular aggregation. Investigated compounds include both organic molecules and transition metal compounds with a particular interest in the polymorphic structures. He is author and co-author of 31 peer-reviewed articles (h-index = 15, number of citations = 649).
