Dr. Sladjana Novaković, PhD in Chemistry, a Principal Research Fellow at the VINS.
She obtained her BSc degree at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade in 1996, MSc degree at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad in 2001, and PhD title at the same Faculty in 2007. After receiving her BSc degree she joined the Laboratory for Theoretical Physic and Condensed Matter Physics at VINS. She has obtained the Principal Research Fellow position in 2018. Her scientific research is in the field of structural chemistry and chemical crystallography with the main focus on structural properties of small molecules of chemical and biological interest. Apart from the conventional, single-crystal X-ray analysis her research activity also includes a high-resolution charge density analysis and experimental determination of the electron density distribution and electrostatic properties of molecules. The overall goal of her work is to examine the interactions within and between molecules and understand the structure/activity relationships on molecular, supramolecular as well as electronic level. In these fields, she has published numerous articles in academic journals. Her publication record includes 85 peer-reviewed articles (h-index = 15, number of citations = 720).
